Supreme Court scared of the Govt?
The Supreme Court has judged that the dissolution of Bihar’s assembly by the Governor Buta Singh and it’s approval by the President Abdul Kalam was absolutely unconstitutional! What are these rulers of our country doing breaking the constitution?
If the President of India does not follow the constitution, then who will?
This is a very important question in that it is very scary that the President makes decisions without any advice? Are there no constitutional advisors to the President?
One thing where the SC has held itself back is in saying that though the dissolution is illegal, the elections may proceed as planned. If what happened was not legal, then why are we going to spend millions of rupees again over a fruitless exercise?
In my opinion, after the recent backlash by the Govt. over the SC’s decision that there should not be any reservation in private colleges, the SC is slightly scared of the Govt.
It is scared that if it says that there shouldn’t be elections and that the previous Assembly should be reconvened, then the Centre might do something against it. So the SC has toned down its judgement and has let the Govt. do illegal things with impunity!
Where is the Indian judiciary - the last hope of the common man - going?
